Our story

Why we exist

Kenya grows some of the best coffee in the world. The problem has never been the beans, it is the system around them. Smallholder farmers wait years for their first harvest, then sell to a chain of middlemen who take most of the value. Many give up.

KORU was built to shorten that chain. We work directly with farmers: we supply certified seedlings, walk their farms with them, buy their coffee at a price agreed in advance, and export it ourselves to roasters abroad. The farmer who grows the coffee should keep a fair share of what it earns.

The name KORU comes from the idea of growth, a young shoot putting out its first leaves. That is what we are trying to build, season by season, one farm at a time.

How we work

Four things we hold ourselves to

01

Fairness

Prices agreed before harvest, weights taken in front of you, no hidden charges.

02

Patience

Coffee does not rush. Neither do we. We invest for seasons, not quick wins.

03

Craft

From pruning to processing, we care about the details that shape the cup.

04

Partnership

Multi-year relationships, not one-off deals. Their success is our success.

1500+ farmer partners
200000+ coffee trees planted
6 counties served
3 processing methods
